The production of trendy high school rom-com The Heirs is in full swing as they've been releasing stills from the set of the drama on a continuous basis. After stills of Lee Min-ho (Boys Over flowers, City Hunter) and Park Shin-hye (You're Beautiful) created a buzz online earlier this week, all eyes are again on the drama as they recently released photos of model-actor Kim Woo-bin (School 2013).
Being pegged as Boys Over Flowers meets You're Beautiful (read: so many unrealistically rich and gorgeous people) by netizens, the drama is said to be similar to Gossip Girl where every character is an heir (the Korean term is chaebol) except for our leading lady, played by Park Shin-hye. So I guess she's our Lonely Boy, err... Lonely Girl.
Kim Woo-bin plays Choi Young-do, the heir to the Welcome Resort. In the photos, he's in the kitchen helping out with the dishes. I seriously doubt he needs the job but maybe he's there to learn the ropes from the bottom up? No matter, just sit back and enjoy the pretty.
Seriously though, after his outstanding performance in School 2013, I can't wait to see what else he's got in store for us. Although., judging by the whole "trendy high school rom-com" description, I doubt his new chaebol character will be anywhere near as heavy as his Park Heung-soo character. Which may be a good thing. For both my heart and my tear ducts.
Aside from the three whose photos have already been released, the cast boasts of plenty pretty faces, most of whom are creating noise as up-and-comers. I guess, this way, if the story sucks, we have a pretty cast to compensate for it? Because already, I'm looking forward to the performances of Kim Woo-bin and Kang Ha-neul (Monstar).
The Heirs follows Master’s Sun and premieres October 9 on SBS.
